Food has always been an important piece of my life, I felt in love with food as a Kid, I saw my grandmother and mother cook for family reunions, birthdays, Christmas and any celebration you could think of. I saw first hand the power of food and how through food you can give love to your close ones.
When I finished culinary school, I was kind of lost I was working as a cook, I was working with Chefs and cooking nice dishes but I wanted more, I wanted to connect with people, share my food with everyone.
Eventually I had this amazing opportunity to travel to USA, being away from home made me realize that I wanted to keep cooking and sharing with others, that is when I decided to create Vianda Peruana, a Food blog that allowed me to cook Peruvian recipes and share them with my love ones, I roll with Vianda Peruana for a year, after this period of time I realize that I evolved as a cook, I wanted to share different recipes, I wanted to share what I learned on this period of time and Vianda peruana needed to evolve to achieve this.
That is when Chewing Happiness comes to live, the food blog will not only be about Peruvian Cuisine, it will be a place where I can express myself as a cook , share different recipes and some of my own.
Site is no longer Vianda Peruana, now its Chewing HappinessÂ
I got the name from a very personal feeling that I have with food, when I taste the first bite of one of my favorite dishes, I feel many flavors at once, time stops, for a moment, nothing seems to worry me, I feel in Peace and for a moment it seems as if I was chewing happiness, maybe a bit complex to explain but it is what I feel.
I am excited about this new changes, I started working on new recipes, working on my photography skills, Post recipes and site have a new layout!
